Just got back from Whistling Straits. Played the Straits course. Man, those bunkers. I think I found every single one. Shot a smooth 104 and honestly felt lucky to break 110. The wind off the lake was no joke either. Made Kapalua feel like a calm day.
Anyone else play there? Did you actually enjoy it or just survive? I kinda loved it even though it kicked my teeth in. The par 3s are insane. 17th with that postage stamp green. I hit a 5 iron and still ended up in a bunker. Is that normal?
Also, is the Irish course worth it or should I just save my money? $400 green fee stung but I'd do it again.
