Okay so I've been down a rabbit hole the last couple weeks. Currently bag a PW (46) and a 58, so like a 12 degree gap. Hit a few shots yesterday where I had no idea whether to take some off the PW or rip the 58 flat out and it cost me like 3 strokes easy.
Thinking about going 46/50/54/58 but that means dumping something. I carry a 3 wood and a 3 hybrid and honestly the hybrid is a security blanket I can't seem to let go of even though I hit maybe 2 good ones a round.
Question for the wedge nerds here: is a 4 degree gap too tight? And at what yardage does the gap actually start mattering? I'm a 15 hcp, driver swing speed around 95, so my full PW is like 115ish. Does a 50 even change anything for someone at my level or am I overthinking it?
Also does anyone actually use all 4 wedges every round or is the 4th one just sitting there looking pretty in the bag. Be honest lol
