Spent basically all of last season trying to turn my natural fade into a draw. Bought into the whole "you need a draw to score" thing hook, line, and sinker. Watched every path/face video, tried shallowing, tried the whole repertoire.
Result? Irons went to absolute garbage. Hooking, fatting, thinning, you name it. Handicap went from 12 to 15 in like four months. Fun times.
Then in a fit of frustration I just went back to aiming left and letting it cut back in. Shot 78 two weeks later. Same swing, same clubs, just stopped fighting myself.
I get the appeal. A draw looks pretty, runs out, all the good players hit one. But most of us don't have the range time to rebuild a swing from scratch. Playing your natural shape and aiming accordingly is basically free strokes. Curious if anyone else has given up on the draw and been happier for it, or if I'm just rationalizing my lazy swing.
