So my buddy let me try his arm lock putter on the back 9 yesterday. I've been fighting the yips on short ones for months, tried left hand low, claw, even that stupid looking saw grip. Nothing stuck. But this thing? I didn't miss inside 6 feet. Made three birdies on the back, shot 38, best 9 in months.
The thing has that fat grip and the shaft leans back, so your left arm is basically locked to your side. No wrist action at all. Felt like I was anchoring it even though I know it's legal as long as it's not against your body. But it sure feels like cheating.
Anyone else tried one? Did it stick or did you go back to conventional? And does anyone actually think it should be banned like the anchor ban? I'm torn.
