Tetherow first time - Kidd's Bend experiment broke my brain

Played Tetherow outside Bend last Thursday and I've been sitting on this for a few days trying to decide if I loved it or hated it. Still not sure. Figured I'd dump it here and let you all sort me out.

Quick context: $265 rack rate, I got on for $180 twilight, which in Bend in late September means finishing in the dark. We made it. Barely. Starter handed us glow balls as a joke. I think.

The fescue thing is real. Fairways are wide, like stupid wide, but the ball just keeps rolling. I hit a 3 wood on 2 that ran out, and I'm not exaggerating here, 60 yards. Ended up somewhere I've never been on a golf course before. Caddie goes "that's the shot" and I honestly thought he was messing with me. He wasn't.

Greens are the whole story though. Kidd built these things with shelves and false fronts and bowls inside bowls. I four putted the 7th from 25 feet. FOUR. My buddy is a legit 6 and he three putted five times. He stopped keeping score on the back.

My gripe is the blind stuff. Six or seven tee shots where you're aiming at a pole or a rock or literally nothing. I get the trust-it philosophy, but there's a line between adventure and guesswork and 13 is well past it.

Wind was up, 15-20 out of the north, which the caddie claimed is the easy direction. Sure, pal.

Shot 94 with two birdies, which tells you everything about the round. It's less a golf course than a scavenger hunt. I'd go back tomorrow.

Anyone else played it? Specifically wondering if the "unplayable once the fescue is up in summer" thing is true, because we caught it late in the season and it was already shaggy in spots.
