6'5" and I've been playing stock irons for two years like an idiot. Finally got on a lie board last week and the marks were so far toward the toe it looked like a crime scene. Fitter just looked at me and goes "yeah, you've been fighting your clubs this whole time."
So now I'm staring down a +1.5" and 2 degree upright situation and I have questions. Does the extra length mess with your swing weight? Do I need heavier shafts to keep the feel? My 7 iron currently swings like a wet noodle and I've blamed my tempo for like 18 months.
Also, and this is the part that keeps me up at night, does anyone actually get taller clubs and immediately get better, or do you just hit the ball off the center now and find a whole new way to be bad? Because I have a strong feeling I'll center it up and still miss greens.
Any tall guys in here been through this? What length and lie did you land on, and did the gap wedge get weird when everything stretched out?
