So I'm at the range yesterday and I do my practice swing before the ball. Nice little whoosh, brush the turf right after where the ball would be, feels amazing. Then I set up to the actual ball and it's like my body forgets everything. Fat, thin, whatever, just not that nice shallow strike.
Did this like 15 times in a row with my 7 iron. Practice swing great, real swing trash. My buddy filming me said they look completely different but I honestly can't feel it.
Is this just a tension thing? Like am I gripping the club death tight the second there's a ball there? I tried stepping away and doing a full rehearsal then walking in and hitting and it kind of helped for like 3 shots then back to garbage.
Anyone cracked this one? Feels like the most annoying thing in golf and it's not even a real swing fault, it's all in my head.
