Hey everyone, GreenReader here. Finally made an account after lurking for about six months. I'm from Asheville, NC, and I play out of a little muni called Asheville Municipal (shoutout to the 9th hole, which has ruined many good rounds for me). Currently sitting at a 7.2 index, trending down since I stopped tinkering with my swing every other week.
I've been playing for about 15 years, and I've gone through every phase: blade irons because they looked cool, low-spin drivers because I thought I needed them, and way too many wedges. Now I'm a firm believer that course management beats swing changes for most ams. I've seen too many guys try to hit the hero shot when a simple punch-out would save par.
Anyway, I've been reading a lot of the threads here, especially the iron set flight vs spin debate and the low spin driver one. I have opinions, but I'll save those for those threads. For now, just wanted to say hi and see if there are any other Asheville folks around. Also, what's the one club in your bag you'd never replace? For me, it's my 54-degree wedge. That thing is magic from 100 yards in.
