Ok so I've been obsessed with this idea for like two years and I think I'm finally pulling the trigger. Nebraska. Late June. Eight guys. Landmand, Prairie Club, and Wild Horse somewhere in the mix.

Here's my rough plan: fly into Omaha, drive out to Gothenburg for Wild Horse that afternoon (it's basically right off I-80, zero detour), crash there, then push north to Valentine the next morning. Prairie Club for two nights, both courses, then Landmand... except Landmand is way up by Sioux City, so we'd be doubling back east. Anyone actually strung this loop together and know the smart order? I feel like I'm looking at a map wrong.

The thing I keep hearing about Landmand is that the greens are completely unhinged. Like 40,000 square feet of putting surface on some holes, swales you can't see the bottom of, walking only with caddies. Is that real or is it internet hype? I've watched the flyovers a dozen times and I still can't decide if it's genius or a gimmick.

And nobody talks about the logistics! Valentine is three hours from basically anything. Cell service is a rumor. You eat at the same two restaurants all week. My wife genuinely thinks I've lost my mind for flying to Nebraska on purpose. But I've done Bandon twice and Sand Valley three times, so the whole "nothing around for miles, just golf and wind" thing is kind of my jam.

Wind is the real worry for me. Late June in the sandhills, is it a steady 25 every day or does it lay down in the evening? And is the heat a Bend-style dry heat or am I going to be miserable at 2pm?

If you've done this trip, give me the honest version. Not the Instagram version.
