league started posting a season money list in the clubhouse and it got weird

So our league committee decided this year they'd print out a season-long money list and tape it to the wall next to the pin sheet board. Every guy's name, every dollar won, updated every Wednesday. Fourteen of us in the league, $20 buy-in each week plus the skins and the low putts pot.

Sounds harmless right? WRONG. Three weeks in and guys are playing like it's the FedEx Cup. Dave, who usually just vibes and drinks two beers on the back nine, is now grinding over 4 footers for $6 like his mortgage depends on it. And the guy sitting dead last (won't name him but he knows) hasn't cashed once and I swear he's stopped coming to the bar after. Just signs his card and leaves. It's brutal.

I'm currently 4th, $61 total, which I'm weirdly proud of and also ashamed of. Caught myself checking the sheet before I even teed off last week to see what I needed to pass the guy in 3rd. That's not golf, that's accounting.

Anyone else's league do a public money list? Does it fire you up or does it make everyone insufferable? Genuinely can't tell if I love it or hate it.
