kept a spreadsheet of 38 rounds this year, the results are brutal

Started logging every round back in April. Nothing fancy, just a Google Sheet with fairways, GIR, putts, and penalty strokes. 38 rounds in, index went from 14.1 to 11.6 so the work paid off, but some of these numbers are straight up embarrassing.

Biggest one: I average +1.9 on the hole immediately after a birdie. Nineteen birdies this year and I've followed up with bogey or worse on fourteen of them. Something about that little adrenaline hit makes me yank driver into the trees on the next tee. My buddy uses Arccos and swears his is the same, we compare notes over beers and just laugh at ourselves.

Second: scoring average is 4.3 strokes worse on the back nine. I blamed fatigue for months, then looked at the timestamps on my scorecard photos and realized I'm usually 2:15 in by the turn. So it's not my body, it's that I stop making decisions and start swinging at whatever.

Third one that stung. I hit 61% of fairways and 34% of greens. That gap is basically my entire game right there. Hitting fairways means nothing if I'm missing greens with a wedge in my hand. I spent two years obsessing over driver and it turns out the damage was happening from 130 yards in the whole time.

Anyway, the sheet is free and it's the closest thing I've found to a coach. What do you all track, and what number actually surprised you? I ignored putting stats for years and it turned out I lose more shots on the greens than off the tee, which I would have argued with you about in January.
