Okay so I bought a 12ft Wellputt mat back in December because I was sick of 3-jacking on the carpet. Rolled like 100 putts a night all winter. Felt like a god on that thing. Big mistake.
First real round last weekend, greens were maybe an 8 on the stimp and I left EVERY lag putt 6-8 feet past. Not slightly past. Like I was putting on glass. My brain is calibrated to mat speed and now I'm scared to hit a 25 footer. The worst one was on 14, downhill from the fringe, and I swear the ball was still moving when it hit the cart path.
Anyone else deal with this? Do I just need to spend 20 minutes on the putting green before every round or is there a drill to reset my speed feel? I'm not ditching the mat, it's too nice for winter, but damn it's messing me up.
