how many balls do you lose per round? be honest

Just wrapped up a round where I lost 5 balls and 3 of them were the same ball. Same tee shot on 7, same exact spot in the weeds, three times. At some point that's not bad luck, that's a swing flaw I'm refusing to look at.

Anyway I've been playing about 8 months and I'm averaging 4-5 lost balls a round. My buddy who claims he's a 12 says he loses maybe one per round. Is that real? Are you guys actually keeping the same ball for 18 holes or is everyone lying about this.

Also, do the ones you find while hunting for your own count as a credit? I pulled 6 out of the desert yesterday so by my math I'm basically breaking even.
