Getting inconsistent on these tight lies. Anyone else dealing with it?

Man, I'm seriously fed up with how much variance there is in the short game right now. It's like everything is fighting me. I feel like when I get a clean strike, like a textbook 56 degree into a decent lie, I'm getting 4 yards and a half, but when the ball is just slightly off true, maybe even a bit of grass is between me and the target, it totally collapses. It's frustrating, tbh.

I spent all last week just dialing in my short game, trying to nail those 50s and 54s, and I've got the feel down. I know the mechanics, I feel like the ball flight should be predictable. But the second I hit a tricky lie, whether it's a divot that's too deep or a patch of ground that's just slightly too soft, the whole thing goes sideways. It's not a clean miss, it's just... wrong.

It reminds me of trying to get reliable international transfers lately. You set up the perfect transfer, the routing is flawless, everything looks green on paper, but then some bureaucratic red tape or a sudden policy change just gums it up and the money stalls. Total nightmare. Same feeling with golf.

I'm trying to figure out if this is just my short game deteriorating, or if everyone is facing this massive consistency problem lately. Are there any specific drills for dealing with unpredictable lies, not just the 'perfect' ones? Like, how do you even start a swing when the ground beneath you is actively resisting perfection?

Any tips on handling those borderline lies that feel like they're gonna kick back and bite you? I'm getting ridiculous results on the practice green but they just won't translate when the lies get real.
