Do I actually need both a rangefinder and a GPS watch?

Just started taking golf semi-seriously this year and I've got a cheap Garmin watch I picked up used. It's fine for front/middle/back but I keep getting burned on pin position, especially on par 3s where I'm picking the wrong club and coming up short or sailing the green.

Buddy of mine swears by his rangefinder and says a watch is basically useless once you're inside 150. Other guys I play with say the rangefinder slows everything down (there's a thread on here about that lol).

So do I actually need both? Or does one kind of replace the other? Not trying to drop $400 on a Bushnell if my watch already does 80% of the job.

What are you guys actually running out there?
