So I'm thisclose to booking a late July trip to Coeur d'Alene. The floating green at the resort course has been on my bucket list for YEARS. Like, I've watched every YouTube video of people shanking it into the lake. It moves on a track! A boat takes you out there! I'm obsessed.
But here's my worry: late July in Idaho = wildfire smoke season. I've seen photos from friends where the mountains just vanish into a gray haze. And ngl, I don't want to drop $300+ on a round where I can't see the green from the tee, let alone the lake.
Has anyone played there in late July? Is the smoke usually a morning thing or an all-day nightmare? Also, is Circling Raven worth adding on, or should I just do two rounds at the resort? And do they really make you take a caddie for the floating green? I need details, people!
