club champs going combo tees this year, ratings feel off?

Our club championship committee sent out the setup sheet yesterday and we're playing combo tees for all flights this year. Blue on the odd holes, white on the even. Used to be straight blue, 6,450 yards, 72.1/134. Combo comes out around 6,120, 70.4/129.

Fine, shorter course, whatever. But here's my issue. Half our league plays the white tees every week from April to September. So the even holes are the ones they've hit 30 times this season. Meanwhile the guys who play blue all year are seeing white tee shots on 2, 8, 12 and 16 for basically the first time. Committee keeps saying "it's the same for everybody." It isn't.

Two holes in particular. 4th is 470 from blue, 405 from white, and the white tee takes the fairway bunker completely out of play. 16th is the same deal. Those go from two of the hardest holes on the card to two of the easiest. Rating dropped 1.7 strokes but I'd bet the actual scoring average for the blue-tee regulars drops way less than that.

Also we're still at 90% handicap allowance which I've been complaining about for two years and nobody listens lol.

Played a combo setup at a member-guest last summer, shot 79 off a 7, net 68, won my flight by 3. Felt like stealing. Not handing anything back, but you get the point.

Anyone else's club do combo for champs? Did the ratings actually hold up or did scores come in way lower than the committee expected?
