So I grabbed a Ping G425 Max off Facebook marketplace last week for $180. Seller says stiff flex Tensei, barely used, moving to a new setup blah blah. Meet him in a parking lot, club looks clean, I hand over the cash like an idiot and don't check anything.
Get home, pull the grip to see if it needs a regrip, and the shaft band says regular. Not stiff. Regular. I text the guy, no response, then he deletes the listing. Cool.
Played two rounds with it anyway because I'm stubborn. Ball flight is just... high. Everything balloons, especially into wind. Lost about 15 yards off my normal carry and my miss turned into a big lazy slice. I know some of this is mental now but it's not all mental.
So do I reshaft it (probably $150+ installed, which is most of what I paid) or just flip it and eat the loss? Never bought used without checking the shaft band before. Lesson learned the hard way. Anyone else get burned on marketplace or is it just me being careless?
