So I'm brand new to this whole launch monitor thing and figured I'd dip a toe in before spending real money. Grabbed one of those generic radars off Amazon for like $150, had decent reviews, said it tracked ball speed and carry.
First session in the garage net and it's telling me I carry my 7 iron 168. I wish. On the course I'm lucky to get 145 out of it. Driver said 289 which, uh, no.
Is this just what cheap radars do? Do they inflate everything to make you feel good? Or am I setting it up wrong? I've got it about 5 feet behind the ball on the mat.
Tempted to return it and just save for an R10. But also wondering if I'm expecting too much from a $150 box. Anyone start out this way?
