Back again, how do you practice bunkers when the sand is concrete?

Yeah I know I've posted like four intros already, my bad, I keep finding this section lol. But I actually have a real question now.

Phoenix courses in July, the bunkers are basically kitty litter sprinkled on a parking lot. I've been hitting the practice trap at 6am before work and my wedge just bounces off the hardpan and skulls it 40 yards over the green. Tried opening the face. Tried the thump it behind the ball thing. Bought a low bounce 60 thinking that was the answer and ngl it made it worse.

So what do you desert guys actually do? Play it like a chip with a 7 iron and just accept your fate? Or is there a setup thing I'm missing. Not trying to be a hero, I just want out of the trap in one shot.

Also this forum has cost me about 300 bucks in gear in two weeks so thanks for that I guess.
