So I'm a 14 and my short game is the reason. Pitching is fine, putting is fine, but that 15-25 yard chip off a tight lie just eats me alive. Skull it, blade it, or chunk it, pick your poison.
Played with an old guy last weekend who had one of those Odyssey chippers in the bag. First hole, tight lie, he just bumps it up there to 4 feet. Every. Single. Time. He shoots 81 with a swing that looks like he's fighting a wasp and I'm sitting there watching him get up and down like it's nothing.
Part of me wants to buy one tonight. Other part of me thinks the second it's in my bag I'm officially admitting defeat and my regular chipping will never get better. Anyone here gone down this road? Did it stick or did it end up in the garage next to the 1 iron?
