Aimpoint is unwatchable and I'll die on this hill

Watched the Wyndham coverage this weekend and I swear half the broadcast was guys straddling their line and feeling the slope with their feet. A full minute of shuffling around for a 12 footer. Then they back off, re-read it, and finally putt.

I get that it works. I've messed with it on my home course and for long lag putts it's actually legit, your feet feel the slope way better than your eyes do. So it's not snake oil. My problem is the ritual. It's brutal to watch and it's spreading down to my Saturday foursome now. Two of the guys I play with do the whole routine on a 6 foot putt and I want to scream.

The part that gets me is the Tour keeps hyping new slow play fines and then lets 20 guys a week turn every putt into a two minute production. Pick a lane. If you're gonna ding guys for backing off a shot, ding the Aimpoint crowd too. Or just cap it. Nobody needs a slope read on a putt that breaks one cup.

Maybe I'm just old and grumpy. But I'd rather watch a guy read it the normal way and lip out than watch another straddle and feel. Anyone else notice it's basically everywhere now?
